Short stories are my favorite thing to write. Shannon Hale, one of my favorite authors, said that writing is a lot like making pottery on a wheel. You have to throw away a hundred pots before you get one that's good enough to keep. This blog is where I am throwing away my hundred stories.
They might not be good enough to keep forever, but hopefully they'll at least entertain you. My rule for this blog is that the stories I post here are allowed to be raw and un-edited. They are practice stories. Mistake stories. Developing stories. My hope is that, when I get to one-hundred, I'll be a better writer than I was way back at number one.

Here's an interesting fact about me that will explain the title of this blog:
I have a small piece of stainless steel inside my heart. For real.
There is a stent in my left pulmonary artery. A stent is a tiny metal-mesh tube that can be expanded or collapsed to help keep a blood vessel open. Learn more about it here. Mine is 29 mm long and about 12mm in diameter expanded inside me. I think it's pretty cool. And no, it doesn't set off metal detectors when I walk through them. ;)
I love the picture of the steampunk, stainless steel heart! Keep posting stories! :)
